Getting around

Kyoto is 2h15 from Tokyo by Shinkansen. The subway, buses, and JR lines cover the spread-out sights; buses are essential for the eastern hills. Renting a bicycle is a lovely way to see the center. Kansai International Airport is 75 minutes by Haruka express.
